Sounds like you don't need the 15". Don't use the mrs as an excuse to waste money (see caveat below).

At no point have you really mentioned/justified why you would need the 15" from a performance point of view. This makes me think the 13" is more than enough for you.

I would personally buy the 13" rMBP for your Fiance, if you are going to buy a macbook for her, and save the money that the 15" would cost. I wouldn't buy an air as the cost to go to retina is minimal but the screen and increased performance is great.

All that being said though, the one caveat is this, if you have the money, and you just want it, then go for it. But if that was the case I suspect you would have already instead of asking on here :) I bought a late 2013 rMBP (2.4/8gb/256gb) recently and it is total overkill for my needs, but you know what, I love it and don't care.

Bingo. Anyone in a relationship based on what you buy or don't buy the other person is being used at best.

Money can't buy happiness, but having it definitely helps!

Caveat - screen real estate

Enough said. Boom!

like i said above she's not the whole buy me stuff and ill love you type. She is pretty great and i was thinking about doing something nice for her. Turns out she's getting a laptop from her work that she will be using. Kind of a bummer because that was the perfect excuse for me to get one but the money is there and i have since seen that new Razer 14 inch gaming comp maybe i can keep the 13 rMBP for business and get into some gaming on a computer that states it'll own the highest resolution in its class???

Thoughts?

How do you figure? Being true to yourself is first above all. Beyond that, it's just if your interests and the other person's match up.

If not, it's not good. If they do, you are good.

Hence why divorce rates are higher now than ever before. This unwillingness to compromise the self, for the greater good of the couple, is usually the point of contention where the relationship feels more like two individuals staying together for the sake of it, as opposed to for love.

Love is sacrifice. If you're not willing to do so, you'll end up paying for it later, one way or another, or staying alone forever.

As for the OP, if you are still within your 14 day return period, maybe you can still go back in to exchange for the 15", if that is really what you still want.
