I will post photos if it happens again but I was too frantic to remove them.

It looks like when I cleaned it with a microfiber rag, some of the fibers got stuck around the Apple logo. I had to put a little bit of water and rub it a bit. Then I also had to actually grab to remove a few stubborn ones. It's not such a big deal as I can feel the logo sticks out quite a bit.

iPhone 7+ jet black.

Anyone else experience this?

No and I use a microfiber cloth all the time on my iPad and my iPhone. But I don't have a 7+. If anything the logos on my devices (including my older iPhone 5) are very slightly depressed, not raised.

That makes me wonder if it's only a jet black issue as there are also reports of the lettering coming off when using certain skins. Perhaps it's just the way it's added after they get done with the anodization.

I wouldn't know about that but I wouldn't be surprised to find out you're right.
