I'm looking to get a new iPhone using the Apple Upgrade Program. What credit score do you need in order to be eligible?

I seriously doubt you will need a 700+ score for IUP. If you have a somewhat decent score of 630 or higher you should be safe. Also just make sure there aren't any negatives on your report. If you pay on time but only have fair credit you should be fine.

So in reality it's not so much the score it's the other factors such as what other creditors are saying about you on your report. On time payments and no negatives (late payments, charge-offs etc) are really key.

Consider this an official prediction that someone will come in here and comment that someone who inquires about necessary FICO score shouldn't be buying an iPhone (new every year).

There are a lot of reasons why someone's credit could have been damaged and left them with ample income to get an iPhone every year, especially after the recession. There are quite a few people that lost everything, including their jobs and credit, that now find themselves financially stable.

I agree, which is why I was pre-mocking the self-righteous and unaware.
