Does anyone have any tips for destroying the helicopters? I have tried putting missile towers and goo towers in the middle, but later in the game helicopters get through there easier and easier.

the short answer to your question, you need to focus your money on the most powerful weapon you have (i.e. Teslas). You will want to upgrade your goo towers to the max as well.
tesla's straight down the middle will do the trick. granted, you might need 2-3 rows of them fully upgraded towards the end.
What's more important for the first 75 levels.....getting as many tesls towers as I can, or upgrading the teslas that I have?
Seriously, you get up to level 100 and past, and those dang helicopters are BIG trouble. They group together, and go too fast, and a lot of them keep getting through....

Interesting. So far I've tended to use lots of un-upgraded machine-guns to build a big maze and then cram upgraded machine guns and teslas through the middle paths where the helicopters run. I get to level 115 on Grasslands easy using that tactic. Now I'll try using more Teslas and Goos I guess. Haven't noticed much effect from the Goo towers so far, but maybe I just haven't used enough of them.
