Hey,
A friend of mine who uses a 12" PB with Tiger on it has just recently updated his iTunes (last night, exactly). Once he restarted his computer (for the software or for the night), he came back and his music files were lost and all his system preferences were changed. He was able to recover the files he downloaded (via Limewire) but not the ones he uploaded from CDs. His file paths are all messed up and we tried to Spotlight his old file names, but to no avail. Does anyone either know a solution (or even a cause?) to this? It may not even have anything to do with iTunes, but it was the only thing he updated.

Thanks again,
Vash

Maybe Lars Ulrich came at night to get him, but accidentally took the wrong set of files? ;) :D

What do you mean when you say his "file paths are all messed up?" Can you give an example? Just for music files, or also for other things?

Are you sure that he's logged into the same account he was logged into before the upgrade?
