I like Samsung's file manager and would like to get a decent one for the Moto X 2014.

What would you suggest? Preferably one with material design and decent GUI aesthetics. Not one that looks like it was made pre-gingerbread and the development team have been sitting on their behinds ever since.... (astro springs to mind)

Don't mind paying, it just better be good.

    Thanks :)

ES is what I have been using. I am not sure if there is a file manager updated with material design yet.

I'll check those out. Thanks. It's a shame I can't get a working 'My Files' apk from the Note 4 / Alpha / S5 that works on non galaxy phones.

I use ES and it's been perfect. File Managers are meant to be archaic looking. :)

Yep trying that one out right now actually and I like the fact it fits into the lollipop material aesthetics. I don't need huge functionality when it comes to a file browser - but this one seems very good and I'm leaning towards it over the others :)

It also supports cloud storage services (dropbox/google drive/one drive) and ftp/windows network shares out of the box. It's a really convenient way to access your music/photos/videos/other documents that are stored on your home network and enjoy them on your tablet/phone.

Yep it's gives you a 7 day trial of those features. Even if I decide not to use them if I stay with this I'll purchase the app anyway as it seems very good. :)

Samsung's File Manager on the newer TW has the best UI. FX file Explorer has a nice looking UI too, but cloud add-ons and other functions not free.

The best performing file managers are Root Explorer and ES File Explorer, but not the best looking UI.
