What are my options for a file renaming application? I have around 200 + photos that I would like to rename, and it would be nice if there was something I could use that will give me a split pane view so I know what the photo is of. I also have a load of audio files that need renaming too.

I'm aware that there is an app called Advanced Batch Renamer, but I would like something different please :)

simply using the Finder isn’t an option?
  • Within a Finder window, select the files you want to rename. You can drag the cursor to select multiple with a box, or shift-click or Command-click the files, or in the Menu, select Edit then Select All.
  • With the files selected, either right-click the selected files and select Rename, or go to File then Rename in the Menu.
  • Use the dialog box to rename your files.
  • Once complete, click Rename.

I want to rename each file individually - like give different files different names. I have updated my post above as it was probably not clear enough.

Here are two applications:

I haven't used either of them.

Finder
"Icon view : Items are shown as icons arranged in a grid. To change the icon size, choose View > Show View Options, then drag the “Icon size” slider."
"Gallery view : Items are arranged in a row along the bottom of the Finder window. To browse the row, swipe left or right on the trackpad, or press the Left or Right Arrow key. As you browse, a large preview of the current item is shown above the row, with its details in the preview column."
