I've been file sharing between two macs (iMac G5 and Macbook Pro if that matters) on the same network for almost a year. I've had everything set up and working great and then out of no where it stopped working. When I try to connect to the other Mac it says "connection failed" but when I try to screen share it works perfectly. Both Macs are running on 10.5.8...

Any ideas?

Is it possible that the IP address of one or both of them has changed?

Are you using a network storage drive, like a NAS? If so, has its configuration or IP address changed?

I guess anything's possible but no deliberate changes have been made. How can I check to see if this is the problem? I just realized then when I try to file share from stacks it says, "There was an error connecting to the server. Check the server name or IP address and try again."

I'm a basic user so I have no clue how to check. Thanks for your help!
