Because it’s about others, and making the system better for users… As someone who’s used a Mac for many years now, I know what the Finder is, but for people switching from another platform to the Mac for the first time, that doesn’t help them out… Every other popular platform has a clearly labelled file manager who’s name and icon actually communicate it’s purpose. Finder on the Mac is the outlier here, even among Apple’s own platforms…so much confusion! just because it doesn't make sense to you, doesn't mean anything really. I bought a Mac, I saw what Finder does, and now that I know clearly what it is and what it does, I don't need no 'rebranding' to stay 'relevant', or whatever your fantasy is.
why don't you just stick a 'files' genmoji on it, or is that not 'modern' enough? if it's still not clear, just switch the transparency on to 100%.
I'm bored of this already.
