So I pulled the trigger on a 27'' iMac last week. Transferred my data from my HP Win 7 box using the migration assistant. It worked fine for the most part, had to locate a few of my music files but the iTunes library went over fine. I noticed my pictures and documents seem to have lost time/date info - they are labelled with the date of migration. This is a bit problematic especially for the photos. Did I do something wrong or can I get the dates back without another transfer??

Finder does not show EXIF data for photos. Try opening a photo in Preview then do command-i to see info and look at the EXIF data. Is the created/modified data all still there? If it is, the Photos app will see it and sort properly.
