I am having MacBook Air with M1 2020 with Ventura os and iPad 6th generation with iPadOS 16.4.1. I would like to transfer files between them ie for MBA to iPad also from iPad to MBA. How to go?

Airdrop does not show my iPad. Airdrop shows contacts only, everyone or no one. Is there any possibility of both owned by self.
Turn on file-sync to iCloud. Then there is never any need to actually transfer any files.
