yea i said back in post 10 (vaguely) that the time to compute would most likely outweigh the actual worth of the data they would retrieve. unless its the military or something of course!

ive never heard of this attack, do you have any information as to how its stored etc? im doing networking at uni
we have no idea about the details of the actual "hacking" - who knows if it even counted as hacking. maybe somebody had a password?
Safe sleep is when the computer saves a deep sleep image after going to sleep, so the state can be restored if power is lost in sleep mode. Going directly to deep sleep saves the same data, I assume.
I don't have any information on the attack, but according to the presentation I linked to above, the key is stored in the safesleep image header. It would be interesting to actually try to exploit this attack as a proof of concept.
