FileVault slow read speeds

I decided to enable FileVault on the 12 inch MacBook. running Blackmagic speed test, I noticed the write speeds are fine but the drive read speed is at 500 tops while being 1400 before FileVault. should I give it time for things to settle or is this what happens with the 2017 rMB with FileVault on?

The Annantech test on the 2016 MB doesn't show as big a drop as your 1400 to 500 but it is significant. I have seen other data but none as big as your drop
