Sorry if this is a daft question, but I am looking into stopping my monthly subscription to LoveFilm and purchasing Apple TV to replace (principally) the film rental element of LoveFilm. The way I use LoveFilm means that, if you ignore the capital outlay for ATV, I will be slightly better off.
    I have a few questions:
    1. What is the film stock content like on ATV compared to LoveFilm's library?
    2. Is this stock only available through iTunes if I were to stream to ATV from my iMac?
    3. How do I ascertain if films that I have remaining on my LoveFilm rental list are available on ATV? I have looked at 'Films' on the iTunes Store and searched, for example "Finding Nemo" or "Anchorman". These films appear to be only available for purchase (or am I looking in the wrong place?).
    4. Are all the films listed in iTunes/Films able to be streamed to ones ATV, or only those that show "For Rent"? If this is the case, the list seems extremely small.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Chris

I'm amazed that there isn't anyone commenting who currently has a LoveFilm account that has had experience of swapping over to ATV. I would very much appreciate a view.

Have a look at Cinemira for films currently available on iTunes.

Oops, the beta is US only.

    Hi

I have both a LoveFilm sub and Apple TV (original), and there is far more on LoveFilm than on Apple TV.

Most popular films (and more) are available on Apple TV but not all to rent and there is no way I know to find out from itunes if you can rent it on Apple TV.

I rent mostly from LoveFilm and occasionally from Apple TV when I don't have a disc at home or don't want to wait for a certain film to come thru the post.

If iTunes and Apple TV are moving more towards renting then this may change in the future.

    Hope this helps you.

Many thanks for your reply webby74. I have taken an opportunity to try out the ATV box by borrowing one from a friend from work. I was very disappointed by the range and number of films available for rent. Having checked to see how many of my films on my Love Film list were available in ATV I have decided to stay with LF - one one out of fifteen was a match. Hopefully before too long, LF will make it easier to stream films direct to televisions without the necessity to buy a Sony Blueray player or purchase a Sony TV. It was an interesting experiment though and I thought the ATV interface nice and easy to use; I just can't see what I would use it for.
