Hi guys

Today I filmed some footage in 4k today and for some reason reason my 6s crashed twice. The battery % when those crashes occur were around the 20% range but just wondering as to why this happened and if there is any way to avoid this...?

In addition, some of the footage was quite choppy, meaning it would freeze then catch up on itself again..?

Is it best for me to just go for 1080? I know quality will be different but no point if its going to crash...

If you're only going to view it on the iPhone, it's very hard to tell the difference between 1080p and 729p. 4K is rediculous.
The iPhone has to write a ton of data fast and continuously to the SSD when using 4K. Very intensive stuff for the battery to try to power.
Really no one should be attempting anything significant on an iPhone when the Batt meter says 20%. 20% is limp mode.

Very strange

My 6s is on iOS 12.1.4 and has no issues with 4k Video

I do have a new unit (fresh battery and all) so maybe consider a new battery?

This is true but the 6s has enough power to do 4k with ease and the nvme in the 6s is also more than capable. It's essentially the same speed as the nvme in the iPhone 7

The 6s should be able to do 4k fine in low power mode too

The op likely has done battery issue affecting the performance

Thanks guys

Ive been reading up about fps and trying it today the smoothness seems a lot better

1080 is good enough, even for my youtube. 4K great but imho it doesn’t work as well on my phone any way.
