Anchorman. I watched it really late, and found it was a boring stupid movie.
A few weeks later, I watched it again, and fell in love with it. It's my favorite movie now.

"The Nightmare Before Christmas"

I just didn't get it at first. Saw it in a theater and couldn't understand why everyone thought it was so great. For whatever reason I bought the DVD and now watch it 2-3 times a year between Halloween and Christmas. I hate musicals but something about this movie makes me want to sing along.

I hated Casino Royale, as a James Bond fan I found it disgusting and I'm swiftly losing faith any new Bond film will be as good as they were. Last film I saw was that new Die Hard which IMO was only minutely better than Die Harder.

I don't recall loving a film. At least not recently.

Donnie Darko, Blade Runner (never seen!), LotR trilogy, Matrix trilogy, 2001: a Space Odyssey are all on my re-watch list.

edit: I really like Nightmare before Christmas! It's been a long time since I last saw it so it's going on my list. I beat Zelda: Links Awakening during that film many many many years ago!

Your assignment for the week is to watch Blade Runner. From the climate change rain that is washing away LA to the robots who are more empathic than the humans. A damn good movie!

Spider Man 2- it sucked the first time i saw it (mostly because i had my preconceived notions about the movie after seeing Spider man, which sucks no matter how many times you see it). Anyways, i saw it again on TV and found it to be a lot more entertaining

A related question: Movies you liked when you first saw them, then on second (or even third) viewing, you find yourself asking, "what in the world did I ever see in this film?"

One of these movies for me was "There's Something About Mary." Hilarious the first time around, almost excruciating on second viewing.

I second that! Watch it and then - dress up as Roy Batty - and watch it again. Instant bond guaranteed.

Has anyone managed to sit through an entire screening of Eraserhead? Awake, that is.
I somehow doubt this film will be added to the from-hated-to-loved list.

I've watched it twice on DVD and have no desire to watch it again for quite some time!

For, its has to be Stephen King's "IT." I hated that movie when I was a kid, it terrified me. Now, I really like it and appreciate the twisted yet interesting story :D

My parents mistakenly let me see 'IT' when I was 5 years old. I had nightmares and had to sleep in there room for an entire week. I liked the movie...and it is still pretty freeky. However, it has not aged well at all. There's clamation as special effects, and the cg special effects are laughable. Plus, the end kinda falls apart when it turns into a spider.

I did not like 'V for Vendetta' when I first saw it. But then I finally finished reading '1984' (tried multiple times to get through it...still don't really like it) and ended up liking it a lot better. However, I still don't get the scene where she's freed from 'prison' and she's not really that angry and her second sentence is "You cut my hair!"....

I also HATED 'Blade Runner'. I love science fiction movies (Minority Report is my favorite movie, period.), but thought this was one of the most boring movies ever. I fell asleep, and I never fall asleep. I'll have to try to rewatch it.

If I was Roy Batty I'd grab your hand through a wet plaster wall, break your fingers, let you run around for a bit, then instead of grabbing you as you fall, I'd let you fall to your doom to the crowded streets below.

But I'm not Roy Batty so I suggest you watch it again and appreciate it.

Are you kidding? It's an outstanding film, almost a comedy... you just gotta get it.
