Final Cut Pro 10.1.2 > 10.2.1

If I upgrade to 10.2.1 will that have any adverse effects on a project from the past? So I have a 10.1.2 project and timeline going. If I upgrade will everything transfer over smoothly?

They say thou shall not upgrade mid project but I know my machine can run FCP better than the clunky 10.2.1...

I've been using the Pro apps since their first App Store versions and haven't experienced any upgrade glitches with Final Cut Pro, Motion or Logic Pro so far. Between major versions there's sometimes a one-way upgrade (via optional duplication) required.
