Ok, so I have to translate something from French into English. I have to add the text to the bottom of the screen, just as you see it done in the movies/films.

This is something i've never done before using FCP and have no idea wether there is a method, a tool or a workflow for doing just this?

I was going to cut up the clips with a human French translator, and rename them with a corresponding word document with the sentance typed out. Then later on, type each one up in Photoshop and drag the image over each section of film...

Am I crazy?

I have to start this in approximately 9 hours time...

HELP!!!?!?!?!

Thanks guys!

You have to do it in DVD Studio Pro iirc.

There is absolutely no way to do this in FCP?

No way!!!

There must be a way of adding text to a few seconds of footage, in FCP itself?

I've never actually put text over a moving image, is it possible and how?

Please??!

if you just want to add a lower 3rd title, you can do that easily in final cut (effects>video generators)

if you want to add true subtitles that you can turn on and off with your dvd player, you have to use dvdsp

Yeah I just want to add a lower third title, but as the guy is speaking, the subtitles change to reflect his respective words.

It's just going to take a while, but i'm getting good money so maybe it's not all bad.
