Are you trying to install 5.0 or 5.1? 5.0 is PPC only.

Three years ago I have used 5.0 on a MacBook Pro with 10.5 (and on a MacBook). So we ran FCP, the PPC version through rosetta, that was just the available license then. It ran ok, the MacBook sometimes crashed when the timeline exceeded 90 minutes...

Even motion ran under rosetta, not perfect, but quite impressive.

    So 5.0 should be possible.

Some more info please? Does it start to load? When does it crash exactly? Are there error messages?

Does an other program of the suite run?

v5 requires Rosetta to run, for PowerPC emulation. It's not installed by default, so get it from your OS X install disk.

Then it will run, but very poorly.

Final Cut Pro 5 on Mac Pro (OSX 10.6.3)

I have installed ROSETTA. But still the same happens.
As soon as I double click on the FCP icon the error message appears: FCP unexpectedly quitted.

    No other program run.

Most people recommend installing Final Cut Pro on the Mac OS X version that was around at the time. I've got Final Cut Pro 5.14 running just fine on Mac OS X 10.4. If you can find an old copy of 10.4, I'd start with that and try to install Final Cut Pro on that version.

NO, this is not true. I have Final Cut Pro 5.14 running on an Intel Mac. It's a Universal Binary.

Yes 5.1 is UB but 5.0 is PPC only.
