Final Cut Pro 7 and Yosemite

I've just purchased a new MacBook Pro and it came with the OS X Yosemite on it. I tried installing FCP7 from the original discs and the installation keeps crashing. Can someone please help me? I do not want to switch to a different editing software.

Final Cut Pro 7 cannot be installed on Yosemite. You would need to upgrade to Final Cut Pro X.

If you have a CCC/Time Machine backup you could clean install Yosemite and use Migration Assistant to migrate your (as part of) FCP7 app to your new MBP?
