Okay, so I have this project I need to open and my computer fried. I have a friends old Mac with an older version of fcp and tried to open the fcp project, but it says it’s from a newer version. I DON’T have my disks. Do I have any options?

What version of FCP does your friend have? As long as your project is saved in a version below 7.0.3 then it will be able to open it.
But if its saved on FCP 7, and your friend have FCP5 then it won't work.
