I'm at my wits' end with a persistent Final Cut Pro bug where font styles (Bold, Semibold, etc.) always revert to Regular during rendering and export. Preview shows correctly briefly, but the final output ignores my Text Inspector settings completely. This breaks all text titles for professional work.

EVERYTHING I've Tried (No Fix):
- Reset preferences (Option+Command launch → Delete).
- Delete all render/cache files (File → Delete Generated Library Files → All).
- New Library → copy projects over.

This isn't user error - it's a parameter not saving to render/export path bug. Even built-in Helvetica Bold fails consistently.

Have you tried in under a different user? If it works there it must be something about your user-specific install. But even then I wouldn't know where to begin to look.

I would also start by removing any and all custom and especially 3rd party titles, effects, etc. that you have installed by simply moving your Motion Templates folder out of the Movies folder.

If I uninstall and reinstall the Final Cut Pro, is it going to remove all of my third-party motion templates? All because over the last 8 or 9 years I have already bought a lot of them and I don't want to lose access!

Nope. They are completely separate from the app. The app only contains any and all default titles, transitions, etc. Everything else lives in your Motion Templates folder.

But deleting it and downloading it again won't make any difference. The issue will most certainly be external.

Hey are you still seeing these issues? My stuff has been doing that so much lately. If you have a solution please let me know.

I've walked face-first into this one today. Not sure what triggered it or why, but I'm throwing the kitchen sink at it. Still trying to fix.

I'm getting the exact same error with rendering a timeline with a specific font right now. Not sure why, but it won't render the correct font. Seems like a pretty big bug to fix.

I have the exact same issue.
The font shows bold in the viewer but renders regular.

Sometimes the fonts already jump straight back to regular in the viewer when trying to change them so bold etc.

My only fix for now is to render those fonts in Photoshop/After Effects and reimport them into final cut 🙈.

quando vc escolherem o estilo de fonte, cliquem em qualquer elemento abaixo da seleção de texto, isso vai fazer o texto ficar com o estilo de fonte que vcs escolherem, mas tem que fazer em todos os textos.

I've persistently had the exact same issue for the past month or two. The only workaround I've found to ensure my projects export correctly, is to type a letter and then delete it within each title clip. It's almost as if, after changing the font style for them all, you need to type in the text inspector to then "activate" that change. Hopefully that helps.

I'd recommend we all make a bit of noise around this issue here: https://www.apple.com/feedback/finalcutpro/

Hopefully the devs will then see that and fix this bug.
