Can a new MacBook Air 2.0 i7 with 8gb of ram run final cut pro? I know it doesn't have the dedicated Navidia graphics card but it seems powerful enough to run without it any ways.

If not, what is the lowest recommended MacBook model that can run final cut? I was also thinking about the $1499 13in pro.

Thoughts?

No I tried. It caught on fire.

But seriously this has been discussed to death. Of course it can run final cut, but it won't be as fast as a $2000 MacBook pro. It is still very usable and orders of magnitude faster than workstations from 5+ years ago.

Thanks. Sorry that I'm not an avid poster and I didn't see this subject covered. You did confirm hat I thought though. I'm going to go with the retina me thinks.
