Hi All, I'm trying to export a 49min HD sequence in Final Cut Pro 7.0.2. but am having continuing problems with crashes and I/O messages. The export generally gets to about 20% before FCP unexpectedly shuts down or I receive the I/O error message, after which the sequence is not viewable and I have to shut down and reboot FCP.

I've tried using Quicktime conversion to adjust the size and have re-rendered the entire sequence, but with no luck. What is going on and how do I fix this?

Do you have your media stored on an external HD? An I/O error would suggest that maybe something is wrong with your media drive. Try moving your media to another location. Make sure it's backed up as well.

External Drive

Yes, all of the files (including all source files) are on a 2TB external hard drive. The drive is pretty new so has a lot of space on it. I am having no other problems with the drive itself. I did just try to export to my desktop and this still resulted in a crash (but not an I/O error).
