Final Cut Pro help

Hi, i can clearly see footage taken on my iphone, and playback on on iPhone but when i try and import to FCP X i only see black squares, with sound - - why and how can i fix?

Hard to know exactly, but the lead-in for each of these clips may be black. Most are very short. If you scrub over them, do they change to show content?

You can create a test project, drag the videos there to play, or scrub across them like k says. whatever is easier for you.

I download into photos first. Next in FCPX, I upload from photos. Never had an issue..
