any luck?

So far I have not noticed any bugs, and the resizable text box is such a relief (what took them so long?).

But ... 10.2.2 is definitely not as responsive on the timeline. I keep seeing a beachball whenever I add long text segments (titles) to the timeline. If I move the cursor in the text pane or the text box on the canvas, it takes over a second for the cursor to show its new position.
As a general observation, there is definitely lag when working in the timeline that was not there before (same project, hardware, etc). Maybe the long titles are the cause, but I haven't worked on any other projects yet to see if titles are the culprit.
So nothing show-stopping, but a bummer to be slower than previous release.

damn...maybe more memory needed?

I doubt it, I have 24GB installed.
I performed a repair permissions and restarted computer, opened same project and it seemed to be quite a bit zippier. The permissions were mostly related to my printer and also to a Quicktime codec. Hope it holds.

I don't think software itself can cause a lag, can it?

Hmm, don't have enough expertise to answer that. But if PLIST files are known to cause all sorts of issues, then why not temporary lag.
Any techies out there have an idea?

Probably the most relevant part of the article is a single quote from one of the editors: 'I'm too old to learn anything else'. TV editing is a career that many take right up to retirement, so change should be expected to be slow.

By Crackeee!! We didn't use FCPX 10 years ago and we aren't gonna use it now. Young whipper snappers (spits into spittoon). Time to get with the program all you "gramps". :D

The update for FCPX will only show if you've actually purchased the software through the Apple App store. If you've gotten it elsewhere, it won't update.
