Final Cut Studio 3 and which external HD?

I plan to get final cut studio 3 if/when it comes out. but for now i've got a birthday coming up and would like an external harddrive.

My computer is in my sig and i've got a sony hdr cx 12 camcorder.

any suggestions and why would you recommend what you do for me?

I'd just go with something from an elite drive from OWC. It's very budget conscious and does the job. They're just a bit noisy.

It's a hard drive. Buy anything.

anything? but i'm thinking i want firewire 800, not just USB. and if anything works why do some hardrives get such awful reviews?

fw800 is the way to go.. really its the only way 😛...

get a nice 1.5tb one or something. western digital 🙂
