Hi Guys,

Where is the best place to get themes for Final Cut? I'm looking at pixel film studios but keep seeing bad reviews online.. Just wondered if they are legit or if you can recommend an alternate?

Hey

Yes the PixelFilm Studio ones are very good in my opinion. (usually just drag and drop.) Also MotionVFX is very good too.

As with all themes you'll probably need to play around with the quite a lot to get it working exactly how you want.

Hope this helps!
Mark

Thanks I'll give them a whirl!

My only knock against PFS is that some of their plug-ins are not editable in Motion. They offer a lot of flexibility in their plug-ins, but sometimes, editing the various components can be mind-numbingly tedious. When I see that I am making a lot of the same tweaks to a plug-in over and over again, I usually open the item in Motion and create custom version for that project... but for some reason, some of the stuff I get from PFS is not editable that way.

MotionVFX is also good, and I can tweak their stuff in Motion all day long... MotionVFX is typically more expensive ($59-99 USD) vs PFS ($29-40 USD). But both produce quality plug-ins for FCPx.

FX Factory is a storefront for many developers.

Also, consider that Keynote can be used to create content for FCPX. If you create the slide set with invisible background, you can create on-screen elements, animations, and so on.

I have used Stupid Raisins, too. Their documentation (help/how-to) was useless, but their support team was very responsive.
