Went by the SF stockton store after avoiding the weekend chaos like the plague. They were sold out of ipad but i just went to play with one, I'm waiting for 3g. It was great, responsive, fast, sharp, the Pixel double thing was noticeable but may have noted that.

I only had one issue. It was way smaller than i imagined. I would have like a larger screen, not hugely large, but larger for sure.

When I first saw it on Saturday I thought it was a little small but after using it I've realized the size is perfect. Any larger and it would be to heavy.

I made myself up a little wallpaper to use on my MacBook Pro, which showed the size of the iPad and its screen, and after sticking my windows in that space and using it for a few days, it did seem a little small.

Although when using it as a touchscreen and probably closer than I use my laptop, it is probably more bearable to use.

If it was much larger I think it might be hard to hold while you use it. After using it for a while, the iPhone screen seems really small.

I went and played with one today. It blew me away. SUPER FAST and responsive. Played Rock Band on it and it was great. alot more room to not mess up and ALOT smoother frame rate than the 3G. After holding the iPad, I then picked up my iPhone and it felt like a feather. I didn't like the typing. Landscape or vertical. The iPad wouldn't pick up what I pressed sometimes, but i guess the iPhone does it too. Maybe I was typing too fast.

I downloaded a free "Hand writing" app for iPad (H. W. Mail) and borrowed a Mac employees stylus. meh..... it was kinda cool, but Apple needs to make a preparatory stylus that is more pointed then just a flat tipped pen (what I used). I want some true handwriting recognition so I can replace my pencil and paper at school.

The new UI was a liitle confusing. Couldn't figure out to go back in some apps (but more time would allow me to understand it more). For some reason the YouTube app nor you tube in safari would show my HD video (was not listed) which I found odd.

But in all, if someone bought me one, I'd take it, but I'm gonna wait till the 2nd gen version comes out.

Funny you mention that. My iPhone screen looks way too small now to me.

Yeah I read a kindle book for a while on iPad then answered a text on my iPhone - whoa it felt funny. I'm still not totally used to the iPad keyboard either.
