So I have this external tv hooked up to my macbook pro and I'm loving it. Just a few things I was wondering.

1. Can I put the menu bar and/or the dock on the external screen as well or do they have to stay on the macbook pro screen?

2. How can I change it so I can close the mbp without it going to sleep so I can work off of just the external monitor. I guess I would need the dock and menu bar as well (from the first question).

3. If there is anything else cool you suggest let me know.

1. Open up System Preferences --> Displays. Here you can change which screen will work as the primary by dragging and dropping the menu bar to the appropriate screen.

2. You can use an app called Insomniax to make sure the MBP doesn't sleep when lid is closed or you can simply close the lid, make it sleep and wake the computer through an external device and voila, the main screen is the hooked up TV.
