throttling back a little
now it's time for everyone else to take over for a bit -- the fans on 2 of my 7970s have flaked out so I'm going to shut them down and pull them out... see what the RMA process is like. Once I find my receipts...

Hi Christian -- you're right, the basement is already too cold!
Haven't been able to find the receipts yet but have a few boxes of them to go through. I've kept the cards going for that 2 bn push by stuffing the case with extra fans blowing over them...
but now it's your turn to take one of the top spots!!

Really not sure, while the 980 looks much better I thing the $/watt/PPD ratio looks better for the 970; plus it's shorter and fit better physically.
Actually the 970 is around half the price of 980 here in Japan. So two 970 actually might be better.
