Went to ATT yesterday to take advantage of a BOGO on Apple watch (my online orders kept cancelling), and got to put my hands on a 12 pro max, a 12 pro, and a 12 mini. I have no regrets going with the 12. For me it’s a great size and weight, and just overall great phone.

However, I have to say the mini is awesome, and would be so great if I weren’t worried about the keyboard size. And that pro max is just stunning! If I could deal with the weight and wanted the size of a larger phone - OMG!

With all the options there are, the only struggle with iPhones this year for most people is/has been deciding which one. There are definitely pros/cons across the board.

The keyboard on the mini isn’t bad. On our sons I was playing with it and with spell check etc and learning your typing habits no problem. But I really like the 12 battery life. Seem like the mini is ok

I’ve had a blue 12 and I’m pretty happy with it but I’ve always had the nagging thought in my mind because I wasn’t able to explore all my options in person.

But I’m probably going stick with this phone since I’m pleased with it and it’ll take the pro so long to ship if I order it from Apple.

I expect you probably managed with much smaller keyboards than the iPhone 12 Mini’s in the past? After all, 5.4 inch is an extremely close screen size to the 6/7/8 plus and they were considered phablets. We’ve had screen inflation. It’s a bit like TV screen sizes, I can remember getting a 32 inch TV years ago - it had a CRT and weighed a ton - and thinking it was like a movie theatre screen, but it would be a pretty small screen nowadays.

Enjoy your new iPhone 12, it’s always a good day when you get a new phone.

The 12 mini’s keyboard is slightly smaller than the 6/7/8/SE2’s. The non-plus ones.

I found typing on mini just as good or better than on a 7 (maybe because the keyboard is just a bit wider?)

typing on the 12 hurt my thumbs having to reach a lot further than what I'm used to. (Strangely, the 11 felt more comfortable to type on compared to the 12)

good luck settling! (We'll see you back around at the mini in a few weeks 😁)

Yep, I was struggling with my decision making this year and going to see them in person was key. Definitely a nice batch of iPhones this year with something for everyone!

I've been using larger phones in recent years and got myself a mini last week. I was worried about the size of the keyboard but you know what? I am honestly finding it easier to type on it than on the other keyboards I've used (most recently a Pixel 3a and a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G).

The diagonal size is similar but the width smaller then the 6. Cos of aspect ratio the screen area is 20% smaller then the plus models

I use the swipe feature on the keyboard so typing isn’t even an issue ( usually ) ... I’ve yet to see the mini in person but I absolutely love my max.. to the max :p

Oh I definitely did, but as I’ve gotten a bit older I struggle more to type on the smaller phones. I recently had the SE2, and texting on it was a struggle. The screen on the 12 is the same size as my 11 (had before the SE), but in a slightly smaller, lighter phone. It’s definitely working for me.

I think the 11 might’ve been a tad easier because the phone is slightly wider - maybe just gives you a little better positioning. I just got tired of the weight and size of the 11, so I went with the SE2. It wound up just being too small to comfortably type. The 12 is a good compromise for me. I can type better, and I like the size and weight too.
