Anyone care to share their opinion? I was at Best Buy a couple days ago and truly tested out the iPad. I’ve been hesitant for months now in regards to the known bending issue. I was amazed at how small it is compared to the 10.5. I don’t have the biggest hands for a guy so I thought, why not? I managed to get it for $200 off with Verizon ($100 without trade in or $200 with). Traded in a cheap phone I had lying around.

I hope I don’t regret the move. Thankfully I have the return window to ultimately decide if I want to keep it or not. I’m definitely ordering a case to take extra precautions to avoid the bending issue becoming a reality. I could’ve waited, yes, but the A12X is already insanely powerful and is insanely beyond the power I even need. I have been able to get a proration (through Verizon) in the past after buying so close to a new release IF the older model drops in price. Granted it’s only $100 but it’s $100 more than I had before. And... yes I know, there might be new iPad Pros coming out in a couple months, but I already got $200 off. If I can get another $100 off, sweet. Not too confident on that but it’s worth a shot to get it again. Touch ID has been annoying since I’m so used to Face ID. So, there’s that.

Only thing that sucks is I have to buy another Apple Pencil.

If you’re happy with that then great.

I would want more than US$200 off at this point though, esp. for an LTE model, given that new iPad Pros may be imminent. Hopefully you can get that extra $100 discount.

I’ve had mine for 3 months now and love it. Upgraded from Air 2 so an even more pronounced change.

No bending issues whatsoever, and it travels in my bag/briefcase frequently, so it could happen.

Would buy again now. If the upgrades are going to be camera related (which I almost never use on my iPad), I’d probably have gone with this one anyway if still available.

My guess is the shell will get slightly improved internal bracing, it will get 6 GB RAM, and new camera. Not sure about base storage and pricing.

Congratulations on your purchase!

Why did you change? Is there anything your previous iPad could not do or was not doing well enough that warranted a change? Just curious, thus my question. Thanks.

The new one is smaller but with a bigger screen. If the Mini was full screen, I’d probably go with that but it’s too late now lol

Also no more Touch ID since I’m so used to Face ID. I kept tapping my iPad Pro 10.5 screen, thinking it would turn on. I still do it.

Well, if all works well, I’m selling my 10.5 with everything that comes with it for around $450 so that will cut off a good chunk of it.

Congrats!

Does not matter what you paid....

If your happy, and I’m sure you will be, then its all good!

Install iPadOS and enjoy the ride

Yeah, I am sometimes tapping the screen of someone else’s older iPhone (not X) thinking that will wake the iPhone up. Nope. Face ID is okay but not great still.

Congrats on your purchase! I just picked up an 11 inch myself and couldn’t be happier. Amazing device.
