Some time ago my Macbook pro 16" 2014 in dual-boot Windows11 and Sonoma started to mess up:
On Sonoma: crash as soon as an app requests graphics power
On Windows: 11 black screen.
I (badly) solved the problem on Windows 11 by inhibiting the NVidia card and no longer using Sonoma.
I deduced that the NVidia card was defective.
Well, no!
It turns out that I was using on OCLP an "enable GMUX" switch allowing Windows to still use the integrated IrisPro graphics, which Apple insidiously disables for Windows.
With this switch, Windows could use the IrisPro processor and double the time on battery.
The problem was that a major Windows update silently erased this part of OCLP causing the problems mentioned on both Sonoma and Windows.
The solution: boot on a normally supported OS (e.g. Mojave) and reinstall OCLP with GMUX switch.
Don't wait, do it immediately, else Windows will hang up in a repair loop after the second aborted boot.
Everything works again, much better than in the degraded way with the disabled NVidia driver....
I just have to keep in mind to reinstall OCLP upon every major Windows update.
