I have upgraded my Mac Pro 2009 4.1 to 5.1

Upgrade it with Mojave 14.1

Graphics Card 1

  • EVGA GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti Gaming - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 - 4 GB GDDR5 - PCIe 3.0 x16 - DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort
Graphics Card 2

  • GT 120 Graphics Card to Boot Screen

  1. My Boot HD 1 With MacOX High Sierra 13.6
  • StarTech.com 3PT M.2 SSD Adapter Card - 1x PCIe (NVMe) 2x SATA M.2 PCIe 3.0

  • OWC 240GB Mercury Accelsior E2 PCI Express Solid State Drive

  • This AHCI SATA Controller that is the Reason Why it works with Boot in Mac Pro

  • This is not NVME Controller

  • Black Magic Speed is 230/655

  • OWC Accelsior S, PCIe, SATA Blue

It is a waste of money to buy the Samsung Pro version NVMe or SSD for Mac Pro as you can not take advantage of the better speed so buy the standard Samsung 950/96/970 to use with Mac Pro 4.1 and 5.1

if you configure a pcie raid 0, you will get better w/r speed?
Hi the OWC 240GB Mercury Accelsior E2 PCI Express Solid State Drive is with Raid 0 ( 2 *120 GB SATA )
But the speed is pure 230/655 compare to NVMe Samsung 970 in the startech Controller 1450/1500 but this Controller
you can/t use Raid 0 because there is only 1 NVMe Slot and 2 M.2 SATA Slot and there you can use raid o

OWC Accelsior S, PCIe, SATA Blue is better with Samsung 860 Evo speed is 500/550

Raid o is faster than Raid 1 but Raid 0 is not Secure if you get HD breakdown you lose all Data

You can use both raid o or raid 1 with 4 bay to SATA HD in the Mac Pro and this is what i have with old 2 TB HD SATA 7200 RPM and with Raid 1

Do you have a specific model number on that DeLOCK PCI Express x4 card? The only one I could find after a quick search is the 89381 with one m.2 and one SATA6 connector.
