I doubt they'll release a different version. That said I think a mod can be done without looking "ghetto." I think it would be pretty straightforward rounding the edges on a small strip of EMI absorber tape - sort of like what's in this video:

iPad 2 Belkin Snap Shield Case mod

Thanks for that link. I went ahead and ordered the exact same sheet as shown in the video (almost $20!).

I've attached some photos of how it turned out with my Zum case and iPad 2 (didn't bother trying to make it look nice). I will be doing this with my i-Blason case for the new iPad when it gets here (I might try to make that look nicer).

Where did you purchase it?

Question for you, did you stick this directly on the ipad or is it stuck on the case itself?

On the case.

Thanks, but I wonder about the difference between AB5030 and 3M5030E-ND. Any idea?

No idea. Best I could tell is that one is the 3M number, and one is the digikey number. I ordered the AB5030 just to be safe.

BTW what makes you choose I-Blason for your new iPad instead of Zum case?

As for the ZUM vs iBlason, I didn't want to wait for ZUM to release other colors, so I went with the iBlason. I wanted the Black Frost/Pearl cover.

Black frost is my choice also. What color is your Smart Cover?

Been using the ZUM on a business trip for the last five days ...have taken it in and out of the cover very often as I like to change smart covers on a daily basis ...so far so good ...edge clips holding up well ......

Been using the ZUM case and its nice, but thought those considering it should know its kinda like the desmay case for the iphone.

Super thing and light weight but.....ZERO protection from drops. Just back surface scratch protection.

I am trying to decide whether or not to keep it as the TPU case I have is almost as thin but definately adds much better drop protection.

Which TPU case do you have? I'm undecided on the ZUM or a TPU.

The description on the new ZUM at Amazon says it is compatible with the iPad 2 and iPad 3. However the description on the iPad 2 case says it is not compatible with the new iPad. Strange! Has anyone tried to fit the Zum iPad 2 case on the new iPad?

I have the clear TPU case back from here:

Update on the circles

1 works, but not as well as I like. I'll be using two.

I have a picture of the back with 1 circle, the smart cover attracting to the case with 1 circle, and my 2 circles.

Got my strips and trimmed them a bit, cut down the length and width a bit and rounded the edges a bit, works like a charm!

Mine goes back to amazon. Edges of the case are too sharp and it is uncomfortable to hold iPad for prolonged period time. :(

If your edges are sharp there's something wrong with your case. I ordered 3 new cases, two for new iPads, one for an old iPad 2 - all are silky smooth on the edges. I would recommend contacting the seller before returning but that's your decision to make.

Does anyone know when the ZUM SC for the new iPad will be available in the UK?

That's really unusually. I just switched to the ZUM from a Belkin and the smoothness of the ZUM edge's was the first thing I noticed.
