How long did it take from the time you ordered it? And was it standard shipping or . . . ?

I'm impatiently waiting for mine!

I just went with the standard shipping, it shipped on the 7th, and got here today the 12th. So 5 days. Not bad.

Glad I went with the wifi card and HD video card options as well :)
 
Yea, I hope so. Ordering 2 SSD's later this week, and 2 1.5TB drives. Should have plenty of space for photography / music.
 
Right now I have an 80GB X-25M in my MBP, so I was thinking of going with 2 160GB X-25M's in my MP. Or maybe just get 2 32GB X-25E's. Not 100% sure yet. But, speed is always nice to have.

Haha, you guys are crazy. Any ideas for a good setup drive wise? I really would like to have 2 SSD's and 2 bigger drives for scratch / misc stuff, and the other with pics and music. My D700 pics in raw format are huge.

I thought I was jealous when I saw the MP, but then I heard the word "D700". Any chance we would swap lives? :)
 
Since you most certainly have the dough, why not get like 2 or 4 of those top of the line ATI cards? I forget their models.

Yes, just a toy. Sorta, I make some money with photography. The MBP wasn't cutting it anymore. Needed to mass quantities of cropping and watermarking.

i wasnt aware that photo editing (or that kind) was so taxing on a computer. can you tell im not a photographer lol?

that machine will last you a very long time! hopefully it will also increase your income :D

Eh, it can be. Not always. Just when doing mass amounts of photos. Once I get done with all of the editing and want to watermark them after all of the color correction and minor stuff, I like to just watermark all at once it gets the MBP screaming like a jet!
 
For your line of work, wouldn't it benefit you to have more than one LCD? I know a photographer who has two LCDs with one oriented in portrait.
