Eh, it can be. Not always. Just when doing mass amounts of photos. Once I get done with all of the editing and want to watermark them after all of the color correction and minor stuff, I like to just watermark all at once it gets the MBP screaming like a jet!

fair call i can imagine you would have hundreds of photos wanting to be edited.

its good to have a desktop after having a laptop for so long, so much more power!!

the laptop is still great for in the field but, of course :D

still extremely jealous!
 
For your line of work, wouldn't it benefit you to have more than one LCD? I know a photographer who has two LCDs with one oriented in portrait.

Sure would be. Saving some money now for some Apple Displays!
 
I see a Hanns-G monitor, what size is it though?

I just picked up the HG281D for my MBP.


Also, any chance you have a picture of the wall-art behind your desk? :) Hope I'm not asking too much.

just wondering, what do you do with your d700?

i use a D3 myself (develope raw into 16bit tiffs)
and that on a imac 3,06ghz

it's for my medium and largeformat scans that i'm looking out for an quad 2,93 mac pro :)

I use it for fashion/portfolio work. Just ordered the new 70-200mm 2.8! W00t. Looks like my displays might have to wait a few weeks.
