Find My Friends

Hi all,

Up until a few days ago, FMF (Find my friends) used to work, now everytime I look at it, it just shows "Location Not Available", is this happening to anyone else?

I'm in the UK by the way.

I may be in the minority here but I'm not taken with this feature.

Im not doing anything wrong or going where I shouldn't but I'm not keen on the idea of being located on a map !

Have your friends still got it set to discoverable as it can be turned off.

I'm meeting up with a friend tomorrow, so I'll have a look at the settings then.

Rather than start a new thread, I thought I'd post a reply to this one.

Has anyone noticed over the past several months that Find My Friends is performing much worse than when it was first introduced?

Previously it would update so quickly that I could refresh screen as someone was walking down the street and see their progress. Not that I did that regularly of course because that is stalking.

Now I find that it can take a minute or more to update someone's location & sometimes doesn't find them at all.

Just to be completely clear, these are definitely people who have their location shared via the application.

So, I typed the above post and then hours later a brand-new version of Find My Friends is launched on the App Store.

At first glance, it seems much, much faster.
