So how much battery does this service eat? It seems to me that when this service is on the GPS is always on and therefore constantly eating the battery?

    Am I right or wrong?

I wouldn´t want to keep this service on, if it eats my battery at all. I´d rather take my chances (since I have never lost any phone).

It only locates on-demand using enhanced location and periodically updates a vague location using tower location so it doesn't use much

Whenever i go to the site or the app it then starts locating rather than just presenting 'last known' locations for things.

I tried Googling this.. they say if you use Push, it'll reduce batt. life, but I don't know for sure.

GPS isn't always on when you use find my iPhone - what happens is that when you try and locate your device (either through the app on another iOS device, or the website), the location service sends a request to the phone and the phone then responds by determining its current location and sending that back to the server.
