"Find my iPhone" question for iPhone 3G(S)

I just tested out my mobileme "find my iPhone" feature and it works beautifully, but I have a question:

What does the green light under my iPhone 3G(S) on my Find My iPhone page indicate? It says "online". Does that mean im logged into mobileme from my computer, or does it mean my iPhone is turned on? Or does it mean something else?

I think it just means that it is connected to MobileMe

When would it be disconnected? When Push is off? Or if the phone is off? And can it work with just Edge and no 3G/WIFI on?

I believe it means that you have Location Services turned on in your Settings which allows for GPS use. Turn that off and see if your phone is discoverable via mobileme.
