Find My iPhone should be a stock feature.

I tried to use it to find my phone somewhere in my house. I couldn't even figure out how to find my phone, using my computer. I was so disappointed in myself. :|

I'd guess that most iPhone owners have no idea how to do that.

It should not be an app and should not have the option to be turned off.

The privacy implications of having this feature permanently enabled far outweigh the benefits. If a stalker or other ill-intentioned individual got a hold of your password, they could track your every location 24 hours a day without your knowledge.

Plus, as others have said, Find My iPhone was meant to be used for lost phones and not meant to be used to track down criminals.

Honestly if you are real careful with your phone and where you place it you shouldn't even need the app. Although I have enable location services just to find out where in the house did I leave it.
