There has been an arrow next to find my iPhone. I have changed my password and it is still there. Are there spy apps that use find my iPhone?

If you mean the location arrow, that's normal as long as you have find my iphone on.

You don't need Location Services turned on for Find my iPhone UNTIL you actually need to find your iPhone (you do need to have Find my iPhone set-up and toggled on BUT not Locations Services always toggled on.)

Wouldn't it be kind of hard to turn on find my iPhone after you have already lost it?

Here's what it says ... I'm probably reading this all wrong ... I'll defer.

I guess from reading and rereading ... if I lost an Apple device that I could toggle on Location Services of that lost device via my Mac or my iPhone or my iPad and Find my iDevice ... hopefully someone will set me straight on that

I think some of you guys may be confusing "Find my iPhone" the iCloud service with "Find iPhone" the built-in app.

The OP (whether they realize it or not) is referring to "Find iPhone" the app, which appears in Location Services with an arrow if it's been used recently or in the last 24 hours. That app can also have location services set as "Never" or as "While Using the App."

"Find my iPhone" the iCloud service works as RedOrchestra states. If Location Services are off at the master Location Services toggle, you will not be able to find your iDevice on a map when using either "Find iPhone" from another device, or https://www.icloud.com/#find from a web browser. You can still play a sound or place the device into Lost mode. If you place your iDevice into Lost mode, then Location Services will be forced on.

Edit: Never mind. I see that "Find my iPhone" also gets a Location Services arrow under "System Services." I'll go back to sleep now.

Yes, you are reading it correctly, but it will only work for Lost Mode. Not if you just misplaced your phone in your house and want to check Find My iPhone. Having to enable lost mode when it is in your house is kind of a PITA.

But if I have not logged into use my iPhone, the arrow should not b there correct? The arrow means that my location has been used within the last 24 hours?

Is it possible my phone is bugged or being tracked?
