The Find My app keeps reporting incorrect location information for various connected devices and AirTags since the most recent iPhone OS update. Devices constantly flip between saying I'm somewhere downtown vs. at home, seemingly at random, and I keep getting notifications about "unknown" devices traveling with me even though they are clearly just my own.

This bug has persisted through me disabling/enabling location services, removing/adding AirTags from my account, restarting devices, removing/adding devices from Find My, reconnecting to my cell network, etc. Basically every single suggested fix online has been attempted and none of them do anything for more than about 15 minutes.

This has also made any location-based Home automations completely useless, because it means things like my lights will just turn on and off at random as it thinks I've left my apartment or vice-versa.

The feature is completely unusable now and none of the support or help resources from Apple have provided any useful info. Has anyone else experienced these issues? Are there any fixes anyone might be able to suggest?

(Apologies if this isn't the correct forum.)

I just checked it showed everything where it supposed to be including AirTags all things running 26.6 and the latest firmware update on tags and AirPods pro.

Very weird. Is there anything running on your phone that would interfere with location, like maybe a VPN? (That's kind of a shot in the dark)

Have you removed/added ALL of your AirTags? It sounds like something that would happen if you accidentally swapped an AirTag with someone else. Your AirTag shows up outside of your apartment because someone else is carrying it. You get warnings about unknown devices since you are carrying someone else's AirTag. Don't put it past some third person noticing two sets of keys and swapping the AirTags on the key rings.

Another option is that someone else's devices have ended up in your iCloud account. This would have probably been one of the things the support articles have already had you check, though.

This can be a royal PITA. I feel for you. I had the same sort of thing happen to a set of AirPods and I ultimately had to replace them for free through Apple. Anyway, to the point...

Have you considered checking for any VPN or proxy settings?
Have you tried removing them and re-pairing them?
Toggled Bluetooth off and on and rebooted?

Some of it sounds silly, but you never know.

Sorry for all the questions but we need a lot more info.....

"Various devices", which devices specifically? Your iPhone is included in this correct?

On the iPhone in Location services and under System Services are ANY of those settings toggled off? If so which ones?

You have Wifi, BT and cellular on? How is cellular and GPS reception in your apartment?

Was your Wifi router previously used/set up at a different locations?

Sharing and AppleID?

How far away is "downtown"?
