When away from my iPhone, my S10 cellular should be used for my location, not my iPhone.
Does this work for anyone? Apple Watch and iPhone are on watchOS 26 and iOS 26, resp.

It doesn’t work for me unfortunately, I will regularly leave my phone in vehicle while I mountain bike and wife says location always just shows where I’m parked…would like to know if there’s a solution to this as well…

Problem solved, works for me again with watchOS 26.6!
First of all, great that it works again. Posted about that some weeks ago too.
And second, strange that it is fixed in 26.6 as Apple sells this as a new feature of watchOS 27:

I was not 100% sure if it ever worked in the past, now I am even more confused.
Have to try it again with 26.6. Thanks for the heads up.

It used to work for me in the past, and now again with iOS 26.6 😊

Just did a test with 26.6 on iOS and watchOS. Did a walking workout and my wife checked from home, where I am. Well, as it did in the last tests: it showed me being at home where my iPhone was on the charger.

My AWU3 has cellular enabled. No idea where to configure something to get this right. 😕
On Apple Watch in "Find My" it says "Sharing location enabled" and "Sharing from iPhone and this Apple Watch".
On iPhone it says: "This iPhone and Apple Watch with cellular". (Translated from German)

It really seems like this should be an easy thing to accomplish, but apparently not. Can’t see why Apple can’t get this fixed.

It is announced for watchOS 27. Strange situation that this feature is working for some already.
Hope this has nothing to do with GDPR in the European Union or so.

really strange. Works for me quite reliable now, both watch and iPhone running on 26.6. Furthermore, I‘m also from Germany (Telekom). Currently, I‘m in Mallorca (Spain), and it also works for me when roaming.

Also Telekom for me.

Do you have a workout running on your watch? Really grasping at straws.

Btw, my wife can see my watch moving in "Find My" in the "Objects" tab, a little bit jerky but moving.

no, no workout running. My watch shows up in the „devices“ tab, but only for members of my family group.

It would be really ridiculous if a workout would prevent sharing location data. My only use cases to go out with my Apple Watch and leave my iPhone behind. I‘ll give that a try.
But maybe this stuff is fixed fully in September.
