find my mac on a used mbp

hello dear macrumors users,

i just bought a used mbp. now i wonder and feel a little insecure because of that "find my mac" thing. can the preowner now track my used macbook if he registered it with his iCloud account? i am a little worried because he could easily break into my house and stuff like that since he knows where his old laptop is...

you never heard of people buying things on ebay, did you?

Did you re-install OS X? if you setup your iCloud service and enabled Find My Mac then it'll be connected to your user ID

The nicest person on earth can be the most evil. I don't blame the OP but for sure I would have done a clean install, no question.
