Find My Mac

Hey everyone, this may be a stupid question, but when I turn on my Find My iPhone app it shows me my Phone and iPad but even though my Macbook is on and connected to my network, it says its offline. I just want to make sure I have this set so god forbid if its ever stolen, etc I have a way to lock it, clear it, etc.

Anyone know why the app does not see it?

On the MacBook:

Go to

Apple Menu > System Preferences > iCloud

and check the box for "Find my Mac".

Thank you, what it was is that it was showing it was enabled under my wifes login, so I activated it for mine.
