Find My Phone and Changing Apple Id

Hi Guys, quick question.


My Gf's laptop just got stolen. It has been set up with Find My Mac and i have been monitoring it to see if it turns up / connects to the internet. So far no go.

If I were to change the password on her apple ID, would this disable my ability to track her laptop using Find My mac?
