Walmart also has the best price on the iPhone 5c, essentially paying customers $30 to purchase one ($45 base price plus a $75 gift card).

Does anyone else find this a little sad? I personally think the 5C is a good phone that has some unfortunate circumstances surrounding it.

It's still an expensive phone off contract. What are the unfortunate circumstances?

I'm personally hoping for a really good deal on a low-end Mac mini, although the margins are probably already slim. I've been waiting for a Haswell model, but I sort of need one soon, and a good deal could push me over the edge.

Sad? It's sad that Walmart actually does not have the best price on the iPhone 5c.

This Sunday (yes, 11/24), Sam's Club is selling the 5c with a 2-year contract for .96. That's right, 96 *cents*.

As far as the 5c goes, forget Black Friday. This Sunday is what you'll want.

BL.

Walmart paying the customer $30.00 is a better value than paying Sam's Club $0.96.

That's not accurate.

You get the $100 gift card AFTER you buy the iPad for $479+ Tax.

Basically they are expecting you to use that $100 towards iPad accessories or something else.

You cannot use it on the iPad purchase.

You realize that MR stated $379 AFTER taking into account the $100 gift card (which you can spend on anything). This is a great day if you plan on spending $100 at Target, which I easily do every week. All that being said, I'm not in the market for an iPad.

I'm not sure if the Target deal includes the cellular versions, but I assume it would if they sold them. They don't sell at least some (all?) of them in stores, however, and I really doubt this will work online. (Even if it doesn't, their store card will take a bit over $31 off the 16 GB cellular's $629 price, so it's not bad considering tax--but hopefully there's another discount.)

As for MacMall, they hardly appear to have any new iPads in stock online (you can call, but I'm not sure how that works). Not sure I have much hope for them now.

Actually, they usually do. Last year, when mini as well as ipad 4 stocks were low, I called and they had plenty. If you are in the market for one, I suggest you give a call on thanksgiving (which is usually when they start their BF sales). Target's website says that cellular versions are only available online, but I will check my local store to make sure.

When did Apple announce their Black Friday deal for the ipad last year?

I thought they would have announced this year's deal already...

They posted a teaser on November 19 last year, which was the Monday before Thanksgiving. So I'd expect to see something from Apple next Monday, possibly.

The sheer madness of the holiday shopping season is one of the things I miss least about living in the States.

The amazing food that is served on Thanksgiving Day is one of the things I miss the most.

You win some, you lose some...

Really, spending another $100 at target is not hard to do. Groceries for starters.

I find it sad only in that people think they are being paid, yet have to pay over $2000 in the next two years for the contract. Now *thats* sad.

Or they can just keep their current phone, and still pay $2,000 over the next two years.

The service price is EXACTLY the same with old phone or new phone.

Anyone know if the Target ipad deal includes cellular versions? I heard they only carry wifi in stores. Otherwise I suspect Macmall to have the best deals. Last year they had about $50 off plus no sales tax in most states. And you don't even have to leave the house!

Just wanted to let you guys know that I answered my own question for those who are interested--some target locations do carry the cellular, but don't necessarily carry all versions and all carriers. My Target didn't have Tmobile, and only 32GB versions. Even though they're unlocked, best get them with the SIM card you want since the carriers usually charge $10 or so for the SIM. So it's probably best to check your target out on wed. to see if they have what you want before waiting on line thanksgiving night (which totally sucks by the way, i.e. this whole thanksgiving BF encroachment)

Last time I checked, Target doesn't even have the Retina Mini's in stock yet or online

Yeah, I don't get when people make those comments. It's not like AT&T gives me a discount on my monthly bill once my contract is up. So if I'm going to use their service anyway, I might as well pay the subsidized price.

I would say it is year old tech that should have been priced a little lower.

What's sad about it? It'll officially be free on contract by June anyways. But by next June, that's $100 too much already, so -$30 seems about right.

But as it's unapologetically thermoplastic, there's an issue with elasticity or whatever.

Every year I give thanks for not being one of the scores of people who find pleasure in participating in "Black Friday Shenanigans". Ya'll enjoy the lines and traffic. I will be at home with a beer. :D

You're assuming that people can't shop online on Black Friday while at home enjoying a beer. :p

NO BLACKFRIDAY D/C ON IPAD MINI w/ Retina Display :(

Why would it be, it's the latest machine in high demand. That's why the XBOX ONE and PS4 were released prior to BF. Black Friday isn't for selling the hottest and latest merchandise, it's for getting rid of cheap junk to shoppers who really think they are getting a deal. NOT.

I'm confused. The target $479 plus $100 gift card iPad air 16 GB wifi offer ad says nov 28-30.

What time does it start at that price? 8am? Or 8pm thanksgiving.

Some Targets began getting Retina iPad minis today.

Ok great, good to know.

For myself, I think I'm going air. I wanted a mini ever since the first one, but honestly, after playing with the air today in best buy, I think I'm in love. It's so much lighter and a good amount smaller than the 3 which is what I have now. I will also being using it for some music production, so I think the larger screen size is better. (But it will also be my phone, lol, which is why I wanted the mini!)

Plus, the mini's screen is a bit disappointing, its processor ever so slightly slower, and probably only $50 or so less when compared to the best deals for the air on black friday. This all makes me believe that the air is the better buy right now.

But this is good info for other people who want the rMini!!!

The Target ad shows an iPad Air 16GB for $479 with a free $100 Gift Card offer next to it yet underneath in the fine print says the free $100 Gift Card offer applies to all other iPads which makes it sound like the 16GB Air is not part of it. Note there is no fine print for the iPad mini.

No. It means that you can use the gift card towards another iPad purchase.
