I want to access the data on an old SSD. It use to be in a 2015 MacBook Pro. Does anyone know a good cabinette/USB outlet for it?

OP wants to access data on the old SSD.
Important files can be more important than the money spent for a one-time use...
OWC does have a decent solution with the Envoy Pro enclosure, but, yes, a bit pricey.
(Important files? I would probably recommend getting that OWC part... )

I have an Apple card-to-PCIe m.2 adapter.
Your Apple card plugs in to the adapter, and the adapter then plugs in to a standard m.2 card connector, which might be an external PCIe m.2 card enclosure. You wouldn't need that adapter card if you get the (albeit more expensive) OWC enclosure. The Apple-connector card would just plug right in to that one.

I have had one for a couple of years ... for the drive out of my 2012 MBP ... works great.

The reason i want one is that I have moved important files to the trash bin and emptied it. So want to make a deep level copy of it and run data recovery programs in linux or windows. Do not wanna risk installing a program on the Mac risking overwrite. No time machine enabled...

Maybe start a new thread om this but how do you like my chances? :)

If you stopped using that Mac immediately after emptying the trash bin, to my understanding the odds are reasonably good as the data has likely not been overwritten. Someone else more knowledgable in the area might be able to offer you further recommendations. I would definitely make a standalone thread on this to provide as many details as possible and ask what the best methods are for this process to maximize the chance of success. There's a whole bunch of really knowledgable people here and those with a lot of experience doing this can probably offer additional insights and considerations.

I am guessing you are probably already well-aware of this already, but if you have a Time Machine backup, those files are likely on this Time Machine disk if you hunt around for them.
